Marty Kemmer-ContrerasDirector of Development

Marty Kemmer‑Contreras came to Cheyenne Village with a passion to advocate for vulnerable populations while advancing equity through community-centered nonprofit work. Marty dedicated over 20 years to community relations and fundraising at CPCD, the Head Start agency in El Paso County. Marty personally recognizes that children with IDD eventually become adults who still need community support, opportunity, and independence. Her daughter, Annie, participates in Cheyenne Village programs.

Colorado Springs has been home for Marty since her graduation from Colorado College.  She has been recognized for her leadership: named a Colorado Springs Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts of Colorado; actively participated in civic groups such as the Junior League of Colorado Springs; and is a graduate the Head Start fellowship program, the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver, and Leadership Pikes Peak.

In her free time, Marty loves spending time with her adult sons, Luke and Nick along with their growing families and daughter Annie, participating in social-justice activities, reading, and walking (just short of hiking).
