Georganne came to Cheyenne Village in 1974.  She has lived in group homes as well as with a host family.  In 2003, she moved into an apartment.  She has a roommate, and enjoys watching football, baseball and hockey.  She loves to entertain, and hosted her first Super Bowl Party last year … complete with decorations and snacks.  She rides the TRE bus to her job at Goodwill where she has been an employee since 1975.

Mark says “he’s lived in his own apartment for awhile” … ten years to be exact.  His hobby is making ceramic figurines.  He attends aqua swimming classes once a week, and also takes computer classes.  One of his favorite foods is spaghetti, and of course, the Denver Broncos is his favorite team.

Stacy was born in Paonia, Colorado in 1968.  Since there were no services for people with developmental disabilities in that area, her parents enrolled Stacy at the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind in 1975.  She graduated in 1989.  While at CSDB, the Holt family learned of Cheyenne Village.  In 1991, Stacy started in Cheyenne Village programs.

Stacy’s painting “The Big Green Tree” was featured on the front cover of the Memorial Hospital 2003 calendar.  Today, Stacy lives in her own apartment, goes to the mall, uses public transportation, and attends Pikes Peak Community College – Deaf Prep Department.

In recognition of the persons served in accredited organizations, CARF invited Cheyenne Village to submit artwork  crafted by those receiving our services.   More than 2,200 photos of artwork were submitted from organizations around the world for consideration.  Only 150 pieces were chosen for display at CARF’s new office in Washington, DC.  Their new office will host many consumer activities, meetings, and educational events.

Brown’s artwork called “Bobby” was one of the 150 pieces.  Bobby says, “My painting is special to me, and I had a lot of fun painting it.”  He enjoys the outdoors and his painting reflects the many different colors in nature.

This picture was also featured in the 2002 Memorial Hospital ... a calendar produced in partnership with Cheyenne Village’s Community Participation program.
